100% of the Proceeds Support Kids

Max’s Garage is an NFT collection inspired by a Pittsburgh boy named Max that has a love for rolling toy cars. In Max’s shoebox (aka the garage) are various vehicles. Each vehicle in the collection is an animated gif that shows Max or one of his friends playing with the toys. The first collection is comprised of 20 vehicles and is called the “1^st Road Trip”.  Each vehicle in the collection is thought up, hand-drawn and animated by Dave Plowden.

The ”1^st Road Trip” went on sale April 22, 2022 and all 20 vehicles were sold in 15 hours. Dave partnered with another NFT project, Ugly Sweaters created by Ira Magnusson, for a special honorary auction for another vehicle on April 24, 2022. The total sales were $7,638.49 between the 20 vehicles and the special auction.  100% of the proceeds from the “1st Road Trip” collection will go to Best Buddies Pittsburgh. Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Dave plans to present an oversized check in-person to Best Buddies Pittsburgh in May 2022 at their headquarters.

Dave is best friends with Max’s mom, Christina. During the pandemic he saw how vital organizations and services that support autism were for Max. In February 2022, Dave asked Christina what was Max’s favorite toy. She said toy cars and a fire truck, because of the sensory of rolling them. That sparked the idea to create a collection of rolling toy cars.
